How VOICE Connect handles information, and what Quick Exit can—and cannot—do.

Updated October 10, 2026 · Applies to this web app

You do not need to tell your story here.

The app does not ask for your name, contact details, documents, or account registration with VOICE. It does not submit support requests, monitor your selections, or arrange a callback.

This web app is publicly accessible and hosted through ChatGPT Sites. You do not need a VOICE or ChatGPT account to use it. Public access does not mean that browsing leaves no records.

Information used by the app

Walk With Me choices
Used in the open page to display guidance. The app code does not send them to VOICE or save them in a database. They clear when you leave Walk With Me, reload, leave the page, or use Quick Exit.
Safety-planning checkmarks
Kept in the open page only. They clear when you leave Safety Planning, choose Clear checkmarks, reload, leave the page, or use Quick Exit.
Resource searches and filters
Processed within the open page to filter the resource list. The app code does not send your search text to a search service or VOICE. It resets on reload, leaving the page, or Quick Exit.
Quick Exit setting
The app stores a small “exit used” flag in browser session storage. It contains no choices, story, or contact information. It helps the app keep a neutral weather screen visible if that same session returns; ordinary browser tabs also attempt to redirect. Browsers may restore sessions, so the flag can outlast closing a window.
Home-screen installation
Your browser or device stores an icon, the app name, its address, and installation information. Browsers may also cache ordinary page files. This app does not create a dedicated offline cache or save a safety plan for later.

Switching to another app or locking your phone may leave the page and choices in memory. A device may also keep screenshots or app-switcher previews. Do not treat this app as hidden or untraceable.

Hosting and technical records

The hosting provider processes information needed to deliver and protect the service. Provider records may include IP addresses, browser/device information, request times, and account or access information where applicable. VOICE has not added advertising trackers, analytics scripts, or third-party embedded media to this app.

We do not claim that using the app leaves no records. Hosting retention is governed by the provider’s practices; this notice does not promise a deletion timeframe for those records.

Calling, email, and outside websites

Call VOICE and Call 911 open your device’s calling flow. Confirming may place a real call. This app does not record calls, send an alert to VOICE, share your GPS location, or dispatch responders. Your phone, carrier, and emergency-service systems have their own practices.

Resource, book, and weather links open outside services. Those services receive connection information and apply their own privacy policies. Calls, texts, emails, purchases, and website visits may appear in device, carrier, browser, or account records.

If you contact VOICE by phone or email, you are choosing to share information through that separate channel. The app does not control how those communications are retained. Ask about safe contact and confidentiality before sharing sensitive information.

Quick Exit and device safety

Quick Exit clears the app’s temporary choices, covers the app with a neutral weather screen, and attempts to open weather.gov. It follows a direct weather link: an installed app requests an external browser, and an embedded preview requests navigation outside the preview. The link may leave the app page in browser history. An ordinary browser tab attempts a replacement redirect if an exited session is restored. If the weather site does not open, an “Open weather website” link remains available. Returning to the same exited session keeps the neutral screen visible.

It does not erase browsing history, remove the installed icon, delete provider logs, hide calls, or stop monitoring. Previous pages, other tabs, app-switcher images, and a reopened app may still reveal use. Browser behavior and network access vary; a redirect may fail or open outside an installed app.

If your device may be monitored, consider using a device the person cannot access. Changes to device settings or history may be noticed.

Service limits

The app provides general information and ways to contact services. It is not an emergency monitoring service, legal advice, therapy, or a personalized safety assessment. It does not guarantee shelter openings, appointments, or a response. VOICE’s Survivor Support Line is available seven days a week, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Central. Grief-support programming is marked coming soon.

For immediate danger, call 911 if safe. Phone links require a compatible device and calling service. Do not rely on this web app being available offline.
